Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the 2024 general elections, has assured dismissed workers that they will receive priority in employment opportunities if the NPP is elected back into power.
Speaking during the NPP’s Thank You Tour in Takoradi on Saturday, April 26, 2025, Dr. Bawumia expressed empathy for those who have recently lost their jobs, acknowledging the hardships they face. “I know how it feels to lose your job, your daily bread,” he stated, emphasizing the NPP’s commitment to restoring livelihoods for those affected.
He underscored that a future NPP government would focus on implementing robust job creation initiatives specifically aimed at individuals impacted by the current economic challenges. “I assure you that in the next NPP administration, you will be prioritised for jobs,” Dr. Bawumia pledged, earning enthusiastic applause from the audience.
The Thank You Tour is part of the party’s strategy to reconnect with its support base and reaffirm its commitment to Ghanaians ahead of the December polls. Dr. Bawumia reiterated that the NPP remains dedicated to revitalizing the economy, empowering businesses, and providing sustainable employment for the nation’s youth and displaced workers.
