The Chief Executive of Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), Dr. Ransford Abbey, has launched a 3-day working tour of the Western North and South Cocoa Regions to enhance engagement with cocoa farmers and COCOBOD staff in the area.
The tour commenced on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, with a visit to Atronsu in the Sefwi Bekwai District, where Dr. Abbey interacted directly with local cocoa farmers. He offered words of encouragement and praised their hard work and commitment to sustaining Ghana’s cocoa industry.
During his engagement, Dr. Abbey hinted at a potential increase in the producer price of cocoa for the 2025/2026 Cocoa Season, a development that would be welcomed by farmers nationwide.
He subsequently visited the Boako Cocoa Station to assess ongoing operations and meet with staff to discuss strategies for enhancing service delivery and productivity.
The tour is set to cover an additional six cocoa districts over the next two days, featuring more interactions with farmers and meetings with COCOBOD regional staff. This initiative is part of broader efforts to strengthen the cocoa sector and ensure the welfare of farmers and stakeholders.
