Asante Kotoko SC has appointed Abdul Karim Zito as its interim head coach and new technical director, following the departure of Prosper Ogum due to a decline in team performance. Zito, a former player and assistant coach of the club, returns with vast experience from both club and national levels. Notably, he guided Dreams FC to a historic CAF Confederation Cup semi-final and led Ghana’s U-20 team to victory at the 2021 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.

In his new role, Zito will serve as Acting Head Coach on an interim basis until a permanent head coach is appointed. He will be supported by Prince Yaw Owusu, who has been named Assistant Coach. Owusu boasts over two decades of coaching experience across Ghana, Sudan, and the United States, with notable stints at Medeama SC, Inter Allies, and Khartoum National Club. His expertise in player development has helped nurture talents who went on to play for top European clubs, including AC Milan and Fiorentina.

Additionally, Malik Jabir, a club legend and two-time CAF Champions League winner, has been appointed as Technical Advisor. He will provide strategic guidance to support the club’s long-term objectives. These appointments reflect Asante Kotoko’s commitment to building a strong, visionary technical structure aimed at sustained competitive success.

The changes in the technical team are part of the club’s ongoing effort to improve team performance and overall club success. With Zito, Owusu, and Jabir in key roles, Asante Kotoko is positioning itself to benefit from their expertise and achieve sustained success both on the pitch and in its strategic ambitions.
