The National Service Authority (NSA) has announced the release of Personal Identification Number (PIN) codes for 18,011 trained nurses and midwives, marking the beginning of their mandatory national service for the 2025/2026 service year.

In a statement issued on Thursday, April 17, 2025, the Authority confirmed that eligible personnel can now obtain their PIN codes through the official NSA website by entering their student ID numbers and date of birth. This initiative signals the start of the enrollment process for newly qualified nurses and midwives across the nation.

As part of the registration process, applicants are required to pay a registration fee of GH¢40 at any ADB Bank branch or GH¢41 via MTN Mobile Money. Registration commenced immediately after the announcement and will close on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.

The NSA has urged all eligible nurses and midwives to complete their registration within the specified timeframe to ensure their inclusion in this year’s deployment exercise.

The statement also served as a reminder that under the National Service Authority Act, 2024 (Act 1119), all Ghanaian citizens aged 18 and above who have completed accredited tertiary education, including those from Nursing Training Colleges, are mandated to undertake national service.

NSA Director-General Felix Gyamfi, who signed the statement, reassured the public of the Authority’s commitment to facilitating a smooth and efficient registration process for all prospective service personnel.

Established in 1973, the National Service Scheme (NSS) deploys Ghanaian graduates to serve in various sectors of the economy, promoting national development and fostering civic responsibility among the youth.
