The people of Kokofu Adwumam in the Bosomtwe Constituency are in a dilemma, crying out for a chief and a queen mother to be instated in the town. For over 10 years, they have been without these two prominent leaders, who passed away, leaving the community in a deplorable state. The absence of these leaders has resulted in numerous immoral and indisciplined acts, such as the rapid growth of marijuana smokers, armed robberies, school dropouts, and teenage pregnancies among the youth in the community.
Furthermore, the community superstitiously believes that the absence of these two leaders is causing an increase in deaths among the youth. “Our lives are in danger,” one person lamented. “We, the youth below the age of 40, are dying every day. It’s like living in a time bomb, not knowing who will be next to die.”
The community is pleading with all stakeholders and the King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to come to their aid and install a chief and a queen mother for them.
