Boakye Agyarko, a prominent member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has voiced concerns regarding the party’s ongoing Thank You Tour, which was initially intended to reignite hope and strengthen connections with supporters.
Agyarko expressed that instead of fostering unity, the tour is devolving into internal discord, blame-shifting, and escalating strife. In a public statement, he described the current trajectory of the tour as a “regrettable turn of events” that threatens to undermine the very foundation of the NPP.
He emphasized that the tour’s inability to unite the grassroots and rejuvenate the party’s spirit is causing significant damage, both within the party and to the trust and goodwill the NPP has diligently cultivated with the Ghanaian people.
“This regrettable turn of events threatens to inflict serious collateral damage on the very fabric of our party. More worryingly, it is steadily eroding the goodwill and trust we have worked so hard to cultivate among the Ghanaian people,” Agyarko stated.
With tensions rising, Agyarko called for immediate action from NPP leadership to reassess the tour’s direction. He warned that the party is on a potential “collision course” and urged leaders to “apply the brakes” to prevent further disintegration.
In his appeal, Agyarko stressed the need for a recalibrated approach focused on genuine reconciliation, solidarity, and purposeful engagement. He urged the leadership to ensure that the tour’s mission, and by extension the NPP’s goals, are achieved in a manner that reflects the unity, dignity, and forward-looking spirit of the party’s proud legacy.
Agyarko’s call for course correction highlights an urgent need for reflection and renewal within the NPP as it strives to maintain its unity and reconnect with the people it serves.
