Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, has pledged to foster the growth and advancement of African football following his election as the 2nd Vice-President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
“I am deeply humbled and grateful to the President and leadership of CAF for elevating me to this position,” Okraku stated. “This recognition is a testament to the trust and confidence placed in me. I pledge to apply myself diligently to support the President and the Executive Committee in promoting African football.”
In an official appreciation message, Kurt Okraku expressed profound gratitude to God and acknowledged the instrumental support he received from Ghana’s President, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, Minister for Sports and Recreation Kofi Iddie Adams, his family, colleagues at the GFA, and the Ghanaian public.
“With humility and the continued support of all stakeholders, I am confident that together, we can achieve greatness and elevate Ghana and African football to new heights,” he said.
The GFA President also recognized the challenging journey Ghanaian football has faced in recent years, noting that his new role symbolizes a positive new chapter for both Ghana and Africa’s football ambitions.
Okraku was elected during the CAF Executive Committee meeting held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, in Accra, Ghana.
