Tanzania’s U15 boys’ team successfully defended their crown at the CAF African Schools Football Championship, edging Senegal 3-2 in a tense penalty shootout after a goalless 40 minutes of regular time.

This victory marks a historic back-to-back triumph for Tanzania, who also won the second edition of the tournament. Their latest success at the third edition of the Championship cements their reputation as a rising force in youth football across Africa.

Both teams displayed tremendous skill, discipline, and resilience throughout a tightly contested match, but it was Tanzania who held their nerve in the shootout to lift the trophy once again.

In addition to the prestigious title, Tanzania also walks away with prize money of $300,000, generously provided by the Motsepe Foundation to support football development projects in their country.

The CAF African Schools Football Championship, organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in partnership with the Motsepe Foundation, continues to grow as a key platform for nurturing young football talent across the continent, with the competition becoming fiercer with each edition.
