The Ministry of Education, led by Minister Haruna Iddrisu, has officially launched an online application portal for first-year students in public tertiary institutions to access financial assistance under the government’s flagship No-Fee-Stress policy. The portal went live on April 29, 2025, as part of efforts to enhance access to higher education in Ghana by eliminating financial barriers for students.

Minister Iddrisu described the No-Fee-Stress policy as a “transformative, bold, and visionary initiative” aimed at addressing the financial constraints that hinder many Ghanaian students from pursuing tertiary education.

In a statement released on the same day, he emphasized that the policy represents a strategic investment in Ghana’s human capital and serves as a key driver of inclusive and accessible higher learning. The Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF), responsible for providing financial support to students at accredited tertiary institutions, will lead the implementation of this important policy.
