Ghana’s Acting Chief Justice, His Lordship Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, has appointed Dr. Cyracus Badinye Bapuuroh as the interim Judicial Secretary. This appointment follows the resignation of Her Ladyship Cyra Pamela Koranteng, who stepped down shortly after the suspension of Chief Justice Gertrude Araba Esaaba Sackey Torkornoo.

Dr. Bapuuroh is directed to assume the role of Judicial Secretary in an acting capacity, as approved during the 291st Meeting of the Judicial Council held on March 26, 2025.

In a memorandum issued by Acting Chief Justice Baffoe-Bonnie, it was noted that Dr. Bapuuroh will fulfill the duties of Judicial Secretary pending a decision by the Judicial Council regarding the appointment of a permanent successor.

“All members of the Judiciary, the Judicial Service of Ghana, and the general public are to take note accordingly,” the memo stated.

Dr. Bapuuroh’s appointment is anticipated to provide continuity in the administrative leadership of the Judicial Service as the Council prepares to name a permanent successor.

Her Ladyship Pamela Koranteng, who leaves the role after years of dedicated service, has yet to publicly comment on her resignation.
