Majority Leader in Parliament, Mahama Ayariga, has assured President John Dramani Mahama of Parliament’s commitment to advancing economic growth and creating equitable job opportunities in Ghana.

Speaking at the Kwahu Business Forum on Saturday, Ayariga emphasized the importance of collaboration between Parliament’s various committees, sector ministers, and businesses to identify challenges and devise effective solutions.

He highlighted the private sector’s vital role in national development, stating, “The private sector is an engine of growth, and the business leaders are the drivers and operators of that engine. They are the job creators and innovators that we must nurture, grow, and sustain. This platform reflects Your Excellency’s commitment to this very task.”

Ayariga reaffirmed Parliament’s readiness to partner with the executive branch to fulfill development promises, declaring, “Your Parliament—the Parliament of Ghana, the people’s Parliament—stands ready to do whatever it takes to support your agenda, ensuring growth and creating equitable jobs.”

He further noted that parliamentary committees will closely collaborate with relevant ministries and enterprises to shape targeted interventions. “Our various committees will assist sector ministers and enterprises in identifying their challenges and crafting appropriate recommendations for resolution. We will also monitor your ministers to ensure they deliver on the promises made to Ghanaians,” he assured.

Concluding his remarks, Ayariga emphasized Parliament’s oversight role in fostering enterprise incubation and development across the country, stating, “Parliament will monitor and ensure the implementation of promises to incubate and develop enterprises nationwide.”
